December 11: Prayer for Restored Relationships

One of the most powerful ways we can pray is through Scriptures. My challenge to you (and me) Today is that we would spend time praying consistently over our relationships. Here are some great scriptures to get started:

Pray that God will deepen your love and grace for each other

  • Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8, NLT)

Pray that God will help you love like He Loves

  • Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. (Ephesians 4:2-3, NLT)

Pray that God will help you think clearly and give you His wisdom about your relationships.  Ask God to reveal any false perceptions you might have, and pray that He will help you change them.  With God’s Help we can change ourselves.

  • Psalm 90:12, NIV: "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

Pray that God will fill you the power to communicate with compassion in your relationships.  That God will give you understanding and grace in your dealings with others.

  • A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. (Proverbs 15:1, NKJV)

We all have broken relationships, pray for healing of your broken relationships!

  • Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32, NASB)

Pray that God will give you the Spirit of faithfulness in your friendships, to help you process with the Spirit of Grace any misunderstandings and adversity you might be going through in a relationship.

  • So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. (Colossians 3:12-14, NASB)

Remember, prayer can changes things!
